My Masonic Journal

Anyone who spends a good amount of time online have probably seen the "Keep Calm and ..." meme posters. I googled its origins was pleasantly surprised to discover the historical significance of this meme. It was produced by the Government of the United Kingdom in 1939  during the Beginning of the Second World War. The original text reads "Keep Calm and Carry On" and was intended to raise the morale of the British public in the event of invasion. Here's my take on this historical artifact and now a popular meme:

I'm not very good with words so from time to time I like to express my thoughts through art such as this one. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I want to express my sincerest gratitude to Bro. Arnie Cade and the members of Tupelo Masonic Lodge. No. 318, Tupelo, Mississippi for entrusting me to design their Official Lodge Seal. I also would like to thank them for publishing my bio which you may read by clicking this link. Thank you very much for everything.

This is one of the most technically challenging digital artwork I've done in a while. It is based on the sacred geometry symbol called "The Flower of Life". To those not familiar with what this so called "Flower of Life" is, wikipedia is a good place to start. I hope that you will find it interesting. This artwork is dedicated first and foremost to my wife and kids and the rest of my family (I love all of you), to my dear Brothers at Doric Lodge No. 316, to all the Freemasons, and to my friends. Meditate on it and watch it bloom. S&F

Two days ago, Brother Sebastian Maceac from my mother lodge Doric No. 316 asked me to design a Masonic inspired tattoo for him. My original idea was to make something that is based on the Flower of Life and keep it really simple. But as I was designing and selecting my images, I found myself looking within and meditating about my own life. Images and abstract ideas began swirling in my head and I couldn't help but to use a lot of them and express them through this artwork. Some people find it a little busy so I encourage you to look at it as a whole and not to over-analyze it. Simply select your display resolution below and download (the large view and download icons are on the upper right hand of the preview box below- it will show up when you hover your mouse cursor over the box). Enjoy!

Some of you may notice that the moon appears to be off centre in relation to its column and the sun. It is just an optical illusion due to 2 factors - negative space and the size. The moon (the Female) is slightly smaller than the sun (the Male) with its corona.
